Background

Macro Connect has been in business for 27 years and is a Managed Service Provider that offers both IT support and data consulting to school districts throughout the state of Michigan. As a third-party consultant, Macro Connect provides services to support each district in meeting state reporting and compliance requirements throughout the year.

The Role

With our practice lead heading on maternity leave at the end of August, we are seeking a seasoned professional with Michigan Pupil Accounting knowledge or demonstrated experience to advise our school clients state reporting. The role will be client facing, with high expectations for professional communication. There will also be a component of overseeing accurate reporting, completing some of the reports, and coaching clients through the completion of the data submission, when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit state and federal reports, including:

    • Fall Count and General Collection
    • Section 25e
    • Graduation and Dropout (GAD), and
    • Student Record Maintenance (SRM)

    Support district administrators for pupil accounting functions, both State and federal reporting requirements, and student information systems relating to state reporting

    Oversee the reporting of student data accuracy within state applications and to various ISD and RESA.

    Collaborate with another Data Consultant and (2) other student information system technicians at Macro Connect.

    Communicate with client staff and administration and attend client facing meetings.

    Provide technical support and assistance to districts’ student information systems admin regarding state reporting data input and troubleshooting, including PowerSchool, MISD Error Checker, and Michigan Student Data System (MSDS).

    Extract a variety of enrollment/attendance data from student information systems and prepare special audits and reports to meet state requirements and district planning needs.

    Qualifications

    • Familiarity with the Pupil Accounting Manual and CEPI and other data submission applications: MSDS (primary), GAD, EEM, MISD Error Checker
    • Ability to troubleshoot potentially complex situations and advise on proper reporting protocols according to the Pupil Accounting Manual
    • Experience working with Wayne RESA and/or Genesee ISD, a plus
    • Experience with Powerschool student information system strongly preferred
    • Experience in data collection and analysis
    • Michigan Pupil Accounting knowledge and/or demonstrated experience
    • Strong Technical skills with Excel preferred (comfortable using formulas and shortcuts to improve data analysis efficiency such as VLOOKUP, Conditional Formatting, Filtering and Sorting, etc.)
    • Strong client relations and interpersonal skills, both written and oral
    • Strong time management skills

    Contract Details

    • Pay: $28-32/hour
    • Hours: 20-30 per week
    • Timeframe: August – December 1
    • Location: Mostly remote with some onsite presence desired, or hybrid
